Biographical Information[edit]

Kelvin Peña has played in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

After being signed by the Atlanta Braves, he hit .196/.211/.232 for the 2018 DSL Braves with no walks and 22 strikeouts in 57 plate appearances, throwing out 32% at catcher. In '19, he improved to .220/.308/.360 for the same team, with 15 doubles, 6 homers and 40 RBI in 66 games. He fielded .985 at first base. After the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he hit .158/.273/.228 for the 2021 FCL Braves while backing up at 1B and C.

In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, he had a two-run single off Venezuela's Sonny Vargas his first time up then was 1-for-7 with a RBI the rest of the Games. [1] During the 2023 Pan American Games, he split catching with Leliss Beltrán and Eric Gonzalez, going 1-for-3 with a walk. He started the winning rally in the 5th/6th place game versus Cuba; batting for Gonzalez, he drew a walk from Carlos Juan Viera and came around to score the tying run on Elier Hernández's two-run single that ended it.
