Biographical Information[edit]
Keiichi Kojima pitched in the USA, Japan and Taiwan.
Kojima was signed by the Yomiuri Giants in 1986, and he spent his first five seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He made his NPB debut in 1991, and he pitched 5 games with the big club in each of 1992 and 1993 season. Kojima then suffered from a left elbow injury, and the Giants released him in 1994. He then signed with the Texas Rangers, and he had a solid 1.73 ERA in 11 games for the Port Charlotte Rangers in 1997 (0-1 with four saves). However, he struggled with the AA Tulsa Drillers as his ERA was 8.83 in 13 games, going 1-8. Kojima returned to Japan in 1998 with the Chunichi Dragons, but he only pitched 5 games with the big club and he was released again. He then signed with the Sinon Bulls of Taiwan, and he had a 1.50 ERA in 3 games in 1999. He announced his retirement after the 1999 season, and he later became a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Overall, Kojima was 3-1 with a 8.84 ERA, struck out 29 and pitched 38 2/3 innings in 4 years in NPB.
