Biographical Information[edit]

Kazuya Yano pitched in the NPB and CPBL.

Yano was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 4th round of the 1985 NPB draft, and he went 2-2 with a 4.53 ERA in 1986. He was 6-6 with a 5.09 ERA in 1987, then his ERA rose to 6.53 in 18 games in 1988. Yano then improved to 5-9 with a 3.21 ERA in 1989, and he recorded a 3.99 ERA in 7 appearances in 1990. However, Yano didn't appear in the big club in the next two seasons, and the Swallows released him in 1992. The China Times Eagles signed him, and he went 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA for them in 1993, then he announced his retirement. He later became a scout for the Swallows, and he signed Akinori Iwamura and Ryuji Miyade.

Overall, Yano was 14-27 with a 4.55 ERA, struck out 213 and pitched 387 2/3 innings in 5 years in NPB.
