Biographical Information[edit]

Kao-Chun Huang has played for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team and in the CPBL.

Huang played for Taiwan in the 1995 Universiade, 1997 Asian Championship and 1998 Baseball World Cup. The Taichung Agan signed Huang in 2000, but he only played 69 games in his first two years of his professional career. Huang broke out in 2002, batting .287/.367/.337 with a league-leading 41 stolen bases. He broke the Taiwan pro baseball record for most stolen bases in a game by a local player with 5 in August 28. He also won both the Best Ten and CPBL Gold Glove awards. When the two leagues merged, Huang was assigend to the Macoto Gida. The speedy outfielder didn't play well in his first year in the CPBL, as he only recorded a .218/.315/.280 batting line with 11 stolen bases. Huang bounced back slightly in 2004, hitting .249/.318/.298 with 6 stolen bases, and was selected into the All-Star game the first time in his career. The condition of Huang slid down in 2005, and 2006, as his batting average never reached .200. The Cobras released Huang in the end of 2006, and he decided to retire. After retiring, Huang managed the Sinon Bulls in the minors in 2009, and served as defense coach in 2010.

Overall, Huang had hit .245/.332/.297 with 80 stolen bases in seven seasons in the CPBL and TML.
