Catcher Kade Scivicque was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 4th round of the 2015 amateur draft, out of Louisiana State University. The scout was Bryson Barber. He signed quickly and played for two teams that season, the Connecticut Tigers in the New York-Penn League and the West Michigan Whitecaps in the Midwest League. His combined line was .269/.333/.381 in 51 games. In 2016, he began the season in the Florida State League with the Lakeland Flying Tigers. In 105 games, he hit .282 with 19 doubles, 6 homers and 41 RBIs. On August 16th, he was traded to the Atlanta Braves along with major league utility player Mike Aviles in return for SS Erick Aybar. The Tigers needed a starting shortstop with Jose Iglesias on the disabled list, while the Braves were looking to promote top prospect Dansby Swanson to the majors in his spot. After the trade, Kade was assigned to the Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League.
