Biographical Information[edit]

Ka'iana Eldredge was drafted in 2010, 31 years after his father David Eldredge was picked.

Eldredge played football, basketball and baseball in high school. He was All-State as a sophomore, junior and senior. The Cincinnati Reds took him in the 48th round of the 2010 amateur draft; they had picked his father David in 1979. Opting for college, he hit .335 in the Hawaiian Collegiate Baseball League that summer. As a college freshman, he hit .268/.343/.395 as a regular at second base. He also caught. He made the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman Team. He played under his father's coaching in the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League that summer, batting .327 with a .415 OBP and 14 steals in 17 tries.
