Biographical Information

Junya Kino has played for the Japanese national team.

Kino was with NTT Higashi Nihon in the industrial leagues after college, winning Best Nine honors at 1B in 2017. He was with Japan for the 2018 Asian Games, hitting .200/.385/.300 with four runs while handling 22 chances error-free at 1B. His hits came off Tariq Nadeem (a double) and Haicheng Gong (a single). In the Gold Medal Game, he pinch-hit for Ryo Kinami late in a 3-0 loss to South Korea and was retired by Pil-joon Jang.
