Biographical Information[edit]
Jung-sik Lee played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 11 years.
Lee played for South Korea in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, going 0 for 4 with two walks while backing up In-kwon Kang. The Samsung Lions selected him in the second round of the 2004 KBO draft, and he hit .143/.250/.286 in 32 games in his first season. Kim then hit .224/.297/.313 in 2005, and he recorded a .229/.297/.361 batting line in 2006. He slumped to .156/.250/.344 in 207, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. Lee returned in 2010 with a .258/.303/.323 batting line, but he only played 8 games with the big club in 2011. He was 8-for-53 in 2012, then he mainly stayed in the minors until he announced his retirement in 2016; he only had 34 at-bats combined in that period. Lee was the battery coach for the Lions from 2020 to 2022 and in 2024, and he coached their minor league team from 2017 to 2019 and in 2023.
Overall, Lee hit .204/.278/.304 with 90 hits and 10 homers in 11 seasons in the KBO.
