Biographical Information[edit]

Sa-yun Kim has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.

Kim was taken by the SK Wyverns in the 3rd round of the 2013 KBO draft out of high school. He made his debut in the KBO in 2017, pitching twice (3 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 3 K, 3 R). He came the closest to stopping Japan in the 2017 Asian Championship, blanking them for 7 innings in a duel with Masaki Tanigawa. He allowed only two hits, two walks and two runs in 7 1/3 IP before Hyun Yang took over in a 3-0 loss. He then began his mandatory military service in 2018 with the Sangmu Phoenix military team.
