Biographical Information[edit]

Jun Kim pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team. His father is former KBO infielder In-sik Kim.

Kim represented Korea in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup; he had a 7.56 ERA in three outings. The SK Wyverns selected him in the 5th round of the 2008 KBO draft, and he only pitched one game with the big club in his first season. In his only appearance, he plunked Jae-woong Yoo and he was ejected. He missed the next three seasons due to military service, and he pitched 4 shutout innings in 2012 after returning. Kim had a 2.84 ERA in 13 games in 2013, then the KIA Tigers selected him in the second draft. However, he didn't get many chances with the Tigers, and he only pitched 7 games for their big club before he retired in 2016. He was an assistant coach for Korea University from 2021 to 2022, and he started to coached Baeksong High School in 2023.

Overall, Kim was 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA and struck out 7 in 14 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in the KBO.
