Biographical Information[edit]
Jun-yong Choi has pitched for the South Korean national team and in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Choi had a 2.57 ERA in three games for South Korea in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, helping them to Bronze. He saved their win over Canada. [1] In the 2019 Asian Championship, he was South Korea's youngest player, a few weeks younger than Hyeong-jun So. He pitched one game, working the 6th inning against Pakistan (relieving Dong-hyun Park and being replaced by Jae-heon Seong). He struck out two and allowed one hit, hitting one batter. [2]
The Lotte Giants made him their first pick in the 2020 KBO draft. [3] He was 0-2 with a 4.85 ERA in 31 games as a rookie in 2020. [4]
