Biographical Information[edit]

Julio Torres has pitched in the minors and for the Puerto Rican national team.

Torres won 12 games in college in 2009, second in school annals. [1] He had a brief career with the Wichita Wingnuts that summer, allowing nine hits, two walks and seven runs (five earned) in 7 1/3 IP. A decade later, he pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings (3 H, 2 K) before the Criollos de Caguas. He pitched two scoreless frames in 2020-2021.

Making Puerto Rico's squad for the Americas Olympic Qualifier, he pitched one game. Relieving Héctor Acevedo in the 7th with two on and two out, down 5-2 against the Dominican national team, he struck out Melky Cabrera. He then went 1-2-3 in the 8th against Julio Rodríguez, José Bautista and Juan Francisco. [2] He was 2-0 with a 2.14 ERA in 11 games for the 2021-2022 Criollos.
