Julian Mock scouted for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1963-1967. He was then a long-time Cincinnati Reds scout, serving as their Scouting Director from 1990-1997. His signees included Jeff Branson, Chris Hammond and Mo Sanford. He opted to pick Chad Mottola over Derek Jeter in the 1992 amateur draft.
