Biographical Information[edit]
Juan Pimentel pitched for the Indian River State College Pioneers from 2013-2015. He was voted 1st team all Southern Conference in both his freshman and sophomore years by the league's coaches. After Indian River, Pimentel went on to finish his college career at the University of Central Florida, where he was an integral part of one of the best pitching staffs in D1 Baseball. The UCF staff led the team to an American Athletic Conference championship as well as a NCAA Tournament appearance at the Tallahassee Regional.
After graduation, Pimentel moved immediately into the coaching ranks. He returned to Indian River for the 2018 season as an assistant coach with responsibility for pitching. In this role he created a developmental plan for the pitching staff which resulted in an eight-win improvement, four Division I commitments, and three MLB draft picks. In July 2018 he took a similar job with the University of Delaware with the additional responsibility of coordinating the Blue Hens' recruiting efforts. Pimentel remained at Delaware through the 2020 season.
Pimentel moved to professional baseball coaching in 2021 when he served as a fourth coach for the DSL Mariners. He moved to the Detroit Tigers' organization as the pitching coach for the Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2022 and Erie SeaWolves in 2023-2024.
