Biographical Information[edit]

Jovanny Rosario (AKA Yovanny) played outfield in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system from 2006-2009. In his four minor league seasons he hit .285/.327/.374 while appearing in 324 games. He reached the AAA level in 2019 but never received a call to "The Show." He moved to the independent leagues in 2010 with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. Rosario concluded his playing career with three seasons in the Mexican League.

The Chicago Cubs hired Rosario in 2015 as an assistant hitting coach with the DSL Cubs. He worked in the same role with the DSL Cubs 1 in 2016-2017 after the Cubs started fielding two DSL teams. In 2018 he was an assistant coach for the DSL Cubs 2 team before returning to the DSL Cubs 1 in 2019. Rosario was scheduled to be an assistant coach with the DSL Cubs Red in 2020 before COVID-19 caused the minor league season to be cancelled. In 2021 switched to the DSL Cubs Blue as their assistant hitting coach.

Rosario moved stateside as a bench coach for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2022 and ACL Cubs in 2023. He then was a coach for the DSL Cubs Red in 2024.
