Biographical Information

SS Josh Rodriguez was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 2nd round of the 2006 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Les Pajari and made his pro debut that summer.

Rodriguez was the top pick of the 2010 Rule V draft, being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates from the Cleveland Indians organization on December 9, 2010. He made the Pirates' roster out of spring training and had his debut on April 5, as a pinch-runner for Ryan Doumit against the St. Louis Cardinals. The next day, he started at shortstop against the Cards but went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts. Before the end of the month, the Pirates had returned him to the Indians, after he had hit .083 in 7 games. He never made it back to the Show.
