José R. Guerrero

José Guerrero was the main right fielder for the Dominican national team that won the Silver Medal in the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games. He hit .357/.412/.500 with 6 runs and 3 RBI in 9 games and had 12 putouts and 2 assists in the outfield (seeing some action in LF as well). He was 6th in the Games in average (between Johnny Martinez and Sergio de la Hoz), tied Rodolfo Puente and Alfonso Urquiola for 3rd in slugging and tied Agustín Marquetti and Romel Wallace for the lead with four doubles. He was not the lone José Guerrero in the tourney as El Salvador had a pitcher named José Guerrero. He had also played in the 1970 Amateur World Series and 1971 Amateur World Series.
