Biographical Information[edit]
Jorge Cayasso, brother of Stanley Cayasso, was the second baseman for the Nicaraguan national team in the 1935 Central American and Caribbean Games; Nicaragua tied for second in their first international tournament. He hit .395 with 3 homers and 10 RBI; he was two RBI behind leader Herbie Carter. He batted .421 for Nicaragua as the third baseman in the 1938 Central American and Caribbean Games when Nicaragua won the Bronze Medal. He also played in the 1941 Amateur World Series. Jorge remained active in Nicaragua until 1944 though he apparently played in the 1945 Amateur World Series. He was inducted into Nicaragua's Sports Hall of Fame in 2004, 10 years after his brother.
