Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Getzelman started his collegiate career at the University of Missouri where he received a medical redshirt before transferring to Iowa Western Community College in 2015. While in Council Bluffs, IA, Getzelman received first-team All-Region honors and the Reivers went 54-7 and competed in the Junior College World Series. After a season at Kennesaw State University, Getzelman finished his playing career at Menlo College in 2017. While at Menlo, Getzelman was named an NAIA All-American and the GSAC Conference Player of the Year when he set school records of 26 home runs and 66 RBIs.

Soon after graduating, Getzelman joined the coaching ranks. He was a volunteer assistant coach at William Jessup University in 2018. After the season he served as an assistant coach for the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks in the Alaska Baseball League. Getzelman then joined Dallas Baptist University where he was the Hitting, Analytics & Operations Director for two years with the added title of Director of Hitting Development for the 2020 season.

The 2020 college baseball season was cut short by COVID-19 and Getzelman joined the Milwaukee Brewers in March of that year as a minor league assistant hitting coordinator. He retained that role in 2021. He also served as interim hitting coach for the Carolina Mudcats for a few weeks in May before Eric Theisen assumed that role. In addition, Getzelman is listed in Baseball Reference as the hitting coach for the ACL Brewers Gold in 2021, but this could not be confirmed by other sources.

Getzelman returned to college coaching in August 2021 when he took a position as hitting coach for Middle Tennessee State University. He stayed with the Blue Raiders for one year before becoming an assistant coach with the University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack in July 2022. At UNR he rejoined Jake McKinley who was his coach at Menlo College and his colleague at William Jessup and in the Brewers organization.
