Biographical Information[edit]

Designated hitter and catcher Jordan Abruzzo was drafted twice, initially by the Boston Red Sox in the 39th round of the 2006 amateur draft, then by the New York Mets in the 13th round of the 2007 amateur draft, one pick after infielder Elliot Soto. He was signed by scout Fred Mazuca. He played in their system from 2007 to 2010, hitting .266/.309/.414 in 212 games in the low minors. Perhaps his best campaign was 2008, when he hit .290/.330/.446 with 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 122 games between three Single A clubs.

His brother, Jared Abruzzo, played in the minors from 2000 to 2005.
