Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Jonathan Baksh was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2006 amateur draft. He had hit .422 with 23 steals in 2005 to be named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year. In '06, he had batted .469, slugged .723 and swiped 18 bases while driving in 67.

He made his pro debut that summer with the Auburn Doubledays and hit .280/.343/.374 with 18 RBIs in 52 games, while posting eight three-hit games and scoring four runs against the Jamestown Jammers on September 4th. He was with the Lansing Lugnuts in 2007 and hit .244/.303/.289 with one home run and 18 RBIs in 63 games. He began the 2008 campaign back with Auburn but appeared in just one game (1 for 3, 2B) before returning to Lansing, where he hit .298/.355/.404 in 43 contests. In 2009, he appeared in just two games and was 1 for 8 for the Dunedin Blue Jays before being placed on the Voluntarily Retired list.
