Biographical Information[edit]

Jonathan Arias pitched in the minors leagues and the CPBL.

Arias began his professional with the Seattle Mariners, and he hit .184/.360/.237 for the DSL Mariners in 2006. He struggled again in 2007 as he only hit .196/.352/.250 for the AZL Mariners, and his batting line was .239/.313/.345 for the Pulaski Mariners in 2008. He was then turned into a pitcher, and he went 3-1 with a 5.14 ERA in AZL while having a 5.40 ERA in 5 games in DSL in 2009. Arias improved to a 2.19 ERA in 11 games for the Everett AquaSox in 2010, and he also pitched 4 games with a 4.09 ERA for the Clinton LumberKings.

Staying in Clinton in 2011, Arias notched 9 saves with a 5-3 record in 39 appearances, and his ERA was 3.27. He had a 3.38 ERA in 3 games for the Leones del Escogido in winter. Arias then had a 2.97 ERA in 22 games for the Jackson Generals in 2011, and he collected 7 saves with a 5.40 ERA in 24 games for the High Desert Mavericks. He pitched in Escogido again in winter, and his ERA was 7.50 in 6 games. He had a 4.43 ERA in 12 games for the Generals in 2013, and he also recorded a 5.58 ERA in 32 games for the AAA Tacoma Rainiers.

Arias surrendered 4 runs in 1 1/3 innings with the Leones in the winter, and he also 8 saves with a 2.16 ERA in 16 games for the Yaquis de Obregon. However, his ERA was 9.82 in 8 games for the Rainers, and the Mariners released him. Arias recorded a solid 1.46 ERA in 25 games for the Sultanes de Monterrey, and he notched 19 saves with a 4.62 ERA in Obergon. He led the Mexican Pacific Winter League in saves in that season. The Lamigo Monkeys then signed him, but Arias had a 4.70 ERA in 8 games, and he was released in April. He then had a 7.20 ERA in 5 games in Monterrey, and his ERA was 7.20 in 7 games for the Saraperos de Saltillo. The 2015 season was his last season as a professional player.
