Jon Miller

Biographical Information[edit]

Jon Miller is the San Francisco Giants lead broadcaster, a position he's held since 1997, but his greatest fame came as the play-by-play man on the top national venue for baseball, ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, from 1990 to 2010. Throughout that run, Miller was teamed with color commentator Joe Morgan. Prior to joining the Giants, Miller was with the Oakland Athletics in 1974, Texas Rangers in 1978 and 1979, Boston Red Sox from 1980 to 1982, and Baltimore Orioles from 1983 to 1996.

Miller was also a play-by-play man for NBC's Game of the Week from 1986 to 1989, paired with either Tony Kubek or Joe Garagiola. His team was the back-up to the Vin Scully team, in case of rain or regional blackout.

In 2010, Miller received the Ford Frick Award from the Hall of Fame.
