John Szefc
Biographical Information[edit]
John Szefc has spent over 20 years coaching college baseball.
Szefc was All-Conference as an outfielder at Drexel in 1989. He was assistant coach at Drexel from 1990-1994 and at Sacred Heart University in 1995. From 1996-2002, he was 212-137-1 as head coach of Marist College, winning Northeast Conference Coach of the Year in 1997. He served as an assistant at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette from 2003-2008, then was assistant at the University of Kansas (2009-2010) and Kansas State University (2011-2012). In 2013, he became head coach of the University of Maryland. He went 180-122 in five seasons there then was hired to lead the program at Virginia Tech University.
