Biographical Information

John Schumann played for the Appleton Papermakers in the Philadelphia Phillies system in 1948 and 1949. In the former campaign, he hit .284 in 87 games; the next year, he hit .304 in 85 games. In total, he batted .294 in 172 games. He was selected by the Clovis Pioneers in the 1949 Rule V Draft, but did not play for the team.
