Biographical Information[edit]

The son of John O'Donoghue, John O'Donoghue pitched 11 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 1993. He had a quick rise to the majors after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana State University.

Most of 1990 was spent in the rookie league, where he had a 2.01 ERA and a record of 4-2 between the Bluefield Orioles and Frederick Keys. In 1991 he had an ERA of 2.90 in the Single A Carolina League with Frederick, and in 1992 he split his time between the AA Hagerstown Suns, where he went 7-4 with a 2.23 ERA, and the AAA Rochester Red Wings, where he was 5-4 with a 3.23 ERA.
