Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher John Masuga played four seasons of minor league ball in the Cleveland Indians chain, once winning 20 games.

He debuted in 1948 with the Pittsfield Indians, going 8-12 with a 4.40 ERA. In 1949, he improved to 20-8, 2.20 for the same club. He was one win behind Hal Erickson for the Canadian-American League lead and led in ERA. He fell to 12-7, 3.50 for the 1950 Wilkes-Barre Indians. He was also briefly with the 1953 Spartanburg Peaches. He served in the Army during the Korean War then worked as a foreman at the Fruehauf Plant in Uniontown, PA.
