Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher John Lamb was a teammate of his brother-in-law, Steve Blass, both in high school in Connecticut and on the Pittsburgh Pirates. John survived a near fatal incident in spring training of 1971 when he suffered a fractured skull from a line drive from teammate Dave Cash. John did make it back to the major leagues after that incident, pitching in 2 games at the end of the 1971 season and for more extended work in 1973.
