Biographical Information[edit]

". . . the wonderfully good little catcher of last season's Washington Americans . . ." - Sporting Life of May 6, 1885, talking about John Hanna

John Hanna played in the American Association in 1884.

Although there have been many minor leaguers named Hanna, only two have played in the majors: John and Preston Hanna. That doesn't include two with slightly different names - Truck Hannah and Gerry Hannahs. John is not to be confused with a minor leaguer from the 1940's and 1950's named John Hanna.
