John Easton was at Princeton University from 1953 to 1955, and signed with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 14, 1955. Five days later, on June 19th, he made his major league debut in what was his only appearance of the season. He later came back in 1959 for 3 more games and struck out in all three of his at-bats, which were all as a pinch-hitter.

He did not play anywhere in 1956 and in 1957 was limited to 17 games with the Schenectady Blue Jays, serving two years in the United States Navy. He came back to play a full season as an outfielder for the Williamsport Grays of the Eastern League in 1958, hitting .321 with 32 doubles and 13 homers in 118. After starting the next season in Philadelphia, he returned to Williamsport, where he hit .356 in 35 games then hit .248 in 49 games for the Buffalo Bisons. Thta turned out to be his last professional baseball experience, as he left baseball after that season.

Easton was born in New Jersey and was a star at Trenton Central High School. At Princeton, he was captain of the baseball team when he was a senior, and also played basketball. He majored in electrical engineering.

He served in the Navy and after baseball worked for Public Service Electric and Gas Company.

He died in Princeton, NJ.
