Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Joey Donofrio began his professional career in 2012 after being taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 31st round of the 2012 amateur draft. He reached Triple A for the first time in 2014.

He had a 1.23 ERA his first season and a 6-2 record with a 2.63 mark his second, striking out 85 batters in 68 1/3 innings. He had a 0.87 ERA for the Double A Springfield Cardinals in 2014, but his season mark saw an uptick after he posted a 5.40 mark in 10 games with the Triple A Memphis Redbirds. In 2015 and 2016, spent mostly with Springfield, he saw a sharp decline in strikeout rate, with a 6.0/9 IP mark the former campaign.

He was a Mid-Season All-Star in 2014 and 2015 and a MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2014.
