Biographical Information

Joe Price pitched 11 seasons in the majors, mostly as a reliever but some years as a starter. His best years were 1981 to 1983 with the Cincinnati Reds, and 1987 with the San Francisco Giants, all years when his ERA was under 3.00.

Joe spent part of 1987 in the minors with the Phoenix Giants, going 6-0 in 17 games. He was also back in the minors in 1991 after his major league career ended.

Price attended both Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma. He was at the University of Oklahoma in 1977, the same year that Mickey Hatcher was there.
