Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Joe McDermott played and managed in the minor leagues. McDermott also owned teams in Norfolk and Grand Island.

McDermott scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals (1941-1945), New York Yankees (1946-1962), New York Mets (1962-1964), and Yankees again (1965-1969). He then scouted for the Major league Scouting Bureau until retiring in the 70's.
