Joe Foy | Bob Johnson |
Amos Otis |
On December 3, 1969, Joe Foy was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the New York Mets for Amos Otis and Bob Johnson.
Although Foy had been a solid third baseman, his performance in New York after the trade was below expectations, and he only spent one season with the Mets. On the other hand, previously unproven Otis played 14 seasons with Kansas City making five All-Star teams and winning four Gold Gloves. This trade is generally considered to be one of the worst in Mets history.
