Talk:Joe Foy trade

From BR Bullpen

moved it back. Just wanted to find a category for this page. --Pti 21:25, 5 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Do we need a page for every bad trade? How about Fregosi-Ryan? Brock-Broglio? Robinson-Pappas? Where does it end? --Just me 11:43, 19 August 2006 (EDT)

I don't think that it really hurts anything to have pages like this, except that they're a potential problem for admins. It's not as though there's a critical space shortage on the Bullpen so that we can only hold important articles. If somebody wants to spend his time creating articles discussing stupid trades, we should let them. It makes the Bullpen a more interesting place. In the long run, it would be cool if we could have a page for every significant transaction in MLB history; that's the kind of comprehensive detail that the Bullpen should strive for. If that starts with a discussion of stupid trades, so be it. --Roger 11:55, 19 August 2006 (EDT)

I think my opinion has softened a bit. The key to a "trade page" though, would be to show the trade as it looked at the time, not through the lens of history. It is critical, I believe, to show why the trade was made by the team that history says came out on the short end. --Jeff 22:44, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
