Biographical Information[edit]
While at the University of Alabama, infielder Joe Caruso was selected to the 1997 College World Series All-Tournament Team 2B and the 1997 Southeastern Conference All-Star Team. He was selected by the Oakland Athletics in 19th Round of 1996 amateur draft after his junior year, but did not sign. He instead signed with the Kansas City Royals after being drafted in the 11th round the following year. Joe played five and a half season in the Royals organization. He was selected to the Texas League All-Star Team in 2000 while playing for the Wichita Wranglers. Joe also spent part of 2002 and all of 2003 in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
In 2006, Joe became hitting coach at Crichton College.
