Biographical Information[edit]
Jin-woo Im pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization for 4 years.
The Samsung Lions selected him in the first round of the 2010 KBO draft, and he missed half of his first season due to elbow injury. He ended up having a 2.65 ERA in 15 games in 2010, but he slumped to a 4.40 ERA in 11 games in 2011. Im represented South Korea in the 2011 Baseball World Cup, posting a 1.59 ERA in five outings. Im's ERA was 5.11 in 12 appearances in 2012, then he missed the next two seasons due to military service. Im underwent elbow surgery in 2015, and he was unable to pitch the entire season. The Doosan Bears then selected him in the second draft (the KBO version of Rule V draft), and he had a 6.48 ERA in the minors. Im only pitched one game for the Bears' big club, in 2017, and he was released after the 2018 season.
Overall, Im was 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA, struck out 33 and pitched 44 2/3 innings in 4 seasons in the KBO.
