Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Jimmy Johnson came up with the Toledo Crawfords in 1939 and went 1-3. He was briefly with the Philadelphia Stars four years later. He was the top West pitcher in the second 1939 East-West Game. Relieving Smoky Owens in the second with a 5-1 deficit, he gave up one run, four hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings while striking out four. He was 0 for 2 at the plate. Hilton Smith relieved him. The West lost, 10-2.
