Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Jim Moore played in the minor leagues from 1913 to 1928, per his The Sporting News contract card.[1] Per records available, he was a high-average hitter (in an era of high averages), batting .342 with 147 hits in 114 games for the Danville Tobacconists in 1920 and .329 with 158 hits in 137 games for the Spartanburg Spartans in 1923.

He also managed the Bradenton Growers to a 34-43, 4th-place finish in 1919, the Danville Tobacconists for part of 1920 (replaced by Rebel Williams), the Jackson Red Sox to begin 1922 (replaced by Red McDermott), the Cairo Egyptians for part of 1922 (replacing George Hughes, replaced by Jack Herbert), the Sanford Celeryfeds for part of 1925 (replacing Nick Carter) and the Laurel Lumberjacks for part of 1925 (replacing Jake Propst, replaced by Pat Devereaux).
