Biographical Information

Jim Gonzales has been a minor league manager, scout and college coach.

Gonzales was an assistant for 7 years between the University of Texas-Pan American and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. He guided the Lafayette Leopards in 1994 and 1995, winning the Great Central League title the first year and the Mid-America League crown the second, with a composite record of 77-48. He scouted for the Cincinnati Reds (1995-2006) and Washington Nationals (2007- ). He signed Scott Williamson, Ryan Wagner, Dustin Moseley, Jesse Gutierrez, Justin Connell, Carlos Guevara and Stephen Smitherman.
