Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Crawford was a college coach, minor league coach and scout.

Crawford was a high school coach then was an assistant under Eddie Stanky at the University of South Alabama. In 1980, he was head coach when Stanky took a year off to recover from heart surgery. In 1989, he coached for the Gastonia Rangers. Crawford became a Chicago Cubs scout in 1991, signing Ryan Theriot, Chris Booker and Hayden Simpson. He retired in 2016.
