Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Brownlee coached college baseball for 30 years.
Brownlee served in the military after he finished college. He was assistant coach at Illinois State, his alma mater, in 1975-1976 and coached at Princeton Community High School for five years. [1] He also managed the Galesburg team in the Central Illinois Collegiate League. From 1980-2002, he was head coach at University of Evansville. He started 7-37-1 his first year, then improved to 26 wins in 1981. He was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1983, 1984, 1985 and 2000. He won 701 games in his 23 years at Evansville, with several 40-win seasons. He then returned to Illinois State as head coach from 2003-2009, going 132-185 his first six years, before retiring. He coached Andy Benes in college.
