Central Illinois Collegiate League
Founded in 1963 the Central Illinois Collegiate League was a wood-bat summer college league. It was one of the first summer college leagues to be certified by the NCAA. In 2008 the league was down to just five teams. That would be the CICL's final season in its current form. At the end of the year the CICL embarked on a major expansion which saw it expand its footprint from Missouri to Pennsylvania. The newly expanded league was renamed the Prospect League and it began play in 2009 with a much healthier 11 teams.
