James C. Bayens

Biographical Information

Jim Bayens was Director of Sales and Promotions for the St. Louis Cardinals 1966 to 1971, Traveling Secretary from 1971-1975 and their Scouting Director from 1975-1980. He was GM of the 1981 Shelby Mets, 1982 Gastonia Cardinals and 1987-1990 Savannah Cardinals. In 1995, he again became a St. Louis scout. He was named to the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame in 1996 as part of their third class, alongside Bill Bethea, Ed Holtz, Roy Majtyka, Pat Putnam, Hoyt Wilhelm and Pat Williams.
