Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Jhonatan Solano reached the majors with the Washington Nationals in 2012, within two weeks of his younger brother Donovan Solano's big league debut.
Nicknamed "Onion", Solano was signed by scout Israel Cruz for Washington in 2005 and made his pro debut the next summer with the GCL Nationals. He was called up to the majors in May 2012, making his big league debut as a pinch hitter against the Miami Marlins on May 29th and doubling off Heath Bell in his first at-bat in the majors.
