Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Jesse Priest played in the minor leagues from 1950 to 1955.

The hurler began his career well, going 16-8 with a 4.48 ERA in 40 games for the Harlingen Capitals. In 1951, he went 19-4 with a 3.15 ERA in 30 games for the Albuquerque Dukes, leading the high-offensive West Texas-New Mexico League in ERA. The next year, again with Albuquerque, he was 19-9 with a 3.06 mark, tying for third in wins and leading all pitchers with 150+ IP in ERA. With the Temple Eagles in 1953, he went 15-8 with a 2.92 ERA. In the final two seasons of his career, he was only 15-25 in 64 games.

Overall, Priest went 84-54 in 201 career appearances.
