Jesús Guerra Jr. was the son of Cuban national team pitcher Jesús Guerra. Guerra Jr. was 4-2 with 8 saves, a 5.48 ERA and .313 opponent average for Pinar del Rio in 2007-2008. He tied for 6th in the Cuban Serie Nacional in saves. In 2008-2009, he fell to 2-0, 6.44 but again was a closer (7 saves, tied for 7th in the league). Opponents hit .350 against him.
