Biographical Information[edit]

Jeremy Voets has pitched in the First Division and for the Belgian national team.

He debuted for the Louvain-La Neuve Phoenix in 2016, allowing one run in five innings. [1] He was 0-1 with a save and a 7.27 ERA for the '17 Phoenix, walking 17 in 17 1/3 IP. [2] The next year, he had a 0-3, 6.06 record. [3] In 2019, he was 0-7 with a save and a 6.71 ERA. He tied for 2nd in the league in losses, two behind Robbe De Jongh. [4]

Despite having gone 0-11 in his First Division career, he pitched for Belgium in the 2019 U-23 European Championship, giving up two runs in 2 1/3 IP. [5] He then made Belgium's squad for the 2019 European Championship and had to pitch both of his games against teams that would win medals. He relieved Ben Van Nuffel in the 2nd with a 4-0 deficit, two on and no outs against Spain. He retired former major leaguer Engel Beltre then Leomartires Rodriguez grounded in a run and Oscar Angulo was retired. He pitched shutout ball the next two innings before giving up 5 runs (4 earned) in the 5th. Yannick Gontier relieved in the 6th. Against Gold-bound the Netherlands, he replaced Artuur Driessens in the 3rd with a 7-2 deficit, one out and one on. He gave up six hits and six runs (two earned) in 1 2/3 IP, including homers to Hendrik Clementina, Calten Daal and Roger Bernadina. Robin Roevens took over for him. His 15.88 ERA for the event was not Belgium's highest; three hurlers were higher. His 10 earned runs allowed did tie Driessens for the most on the team. [6]
