Biographical Information[edit]

Jeremy Gould has pitched in the minors.

Gould was 7-2 as a high school sophomore, 4-2 as a junior and 8-2 with a 0.60 ERA as a senior. In college, he was 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA as a freshman. He hit .284 with a .383 OBP as a 1B-OF-DH. He was Duke's starting left fielder in 2008, hitting .349/.403/.470. He fielded .991. That summer, he batted .299 for the Peninsula Oilers in the Alaska Baseball League and also played for the team in the National Baseball Congress World Series. During 2009, he hit .340 and slugged .510 as a LF-1B-DH for Duke. He batted .235 for the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod League. His senior season with Duke, the Houston native batted .317. He finished 11th in Duke history with a .330 average. He also had a 4.76 ERA as a pitcher as a senior. The New York Mets took him in the 28th round of the 2010 amateur draft. The scout was Marlin McPhail. He was not the first Jewish player from Duke drafted that season - teammate Jake Lemmerman went in the 5th round.

With the 2010 GCL Mets, Gould was 1-2 with a save and a 3.12 ERA, walking 11 in 17 1/3 innings. He had similar numbers (1-3, 5 Sv, 3.26) for the 2011 Brooklyn Cyclones but showed a very good strikeout rate with 46 whiffs in 30 1/3 innings while improving his control (7 BB).
