Biographical Information[edit]

Jen Gilroy was a college softball player when she was picked to play for Canada in the 2010 Women's Baseball World Cup as a catcher. She started the winning rally in a bottom-of-the-7th comeback against Taiwan. In the 2012 Women's Baseball World Cup, she hit .450/.542/.550 with 5 runs and 8 RBI in six games, splitting catching duties with Stéphanie Savoie and also playing DH. She threw out the only runner who tried to steal against her. She did not play in the Bronze Medal game as Savoie caught and Kate Psota played DH; Canada won.

Gilroy was 0 for 8 with 3 walks and a hit-by-pitch in the 2014 Women's Baseball World Cup, backing up Savoie. She started at DH in the Bronze Medal game but was 0 for 2 in a loss to Australia. In the 2015 Pan American Games, she started at 1B for Canada and hit .143/.400/.286 with 3 runs, 3 RBI and 3 HBP in six games, fielding .952 at her new position. In the Silver Medal game, she hit 7th and went 0 for 2 with a walk against Sarah Hudek and Stacy Piagno as Canada lost to the US, 11-3.

Off the field. she works in security and is involved with Ve’ahavta, a Jewish Humanitarian and Relief Organization.
